New computer viruses are frequently in the news, and we highly recommend that our members who manage their accounts through Two Rivers Community's online Account Access take the necessary precautions to protect their personal computers and account information from unauthorized access.
If you are a cable modem, satellite or DSL user, your PC configuration should include both a firewall and anti-virus software.
This is because these types of Internet connections are always "on." Therefore, if your computer doesn't have adequate security, others can gain access to the data stored on your computer and/or your computer's browser. Once installed, we recommend that you update your anti-virus software and firewall on a regular basis, as recommended by the software providers, because new viruses continue to be created.
In addition, keep your computer and browser updated with current patches as released by your operating system vendor. You should only download patches from official vendors' web sites, and not from third-party web sites.
